Vice president's wife stops in Charlotte on Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The vice president’s wife came to Charlotte on Saturday.

It was the last of three stops made by Dr. Jill Biden in North Carolina.

She also held a Women for Obama-Biden event in Greensboro and Cary. People at the Charlotte event told Eyewitness News it’s important to energize women voters.

"I want women to have control of their lives, their bodies and their futures. I’m not so sure that will happen if Obama does not get reelected,” said Janee Blue.

Biden urged women to volunteer and organize in their communities. First lady Michelle Obama will return to North Carolina next week. She is speaking to students and grassroots supporters at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, two days before early voting starts.
