Powerful storm system headed toward East Coast

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A powerful storm system is making its way across the western part of the country and is headed toward North Carolina.

The system is bringing snow and freezing temperatures.

The weather has led to at least five deaths, with flooding and water rescues in parts of California.

Drivers have been left stranded in Nevada, with hundreds of crashes along the highways.

The system is expected to hit the East Coast by the middle of next week.
