President Obama wants increase in minimum wage

WASHINGTON D.C. — President Barack Obama says hardworking Americans deserve a vote in Congress on a minimum wage hike.

"Raising Americans wages isn't just a good deed; it's good business and good for our economy," the president said in his weekly Web address.

Six states have already raised their minimum wage and more are considering it.

The president says it's up to Congress to finish the job by passing legislation raising the federal wage to $10.10 per hour.
