Updated:UNION MILLS, N.C. (AP)f a Union Mills solider missing in action in the Korean War have been positively identified.
The Daily Courier of Forest City reports the family of Cameron Morrison Flack got confirmation last week from the U.S. Department of Defense that his remains will be returned to Rutherford County later this year.
Flack joined the Army at 17 and did basic training at South Carolina's Fort Jackson. He went missing 54 years ago, just months after arriving in Korea, and is one of four area service members missing in action since then.
Flack's relatives submitted DNA samples more than five years ago, hoping to help identify his remains. His family says Flack will be buried in a marked cemetery plot that has been empty for half a century.
