SALISBURY, N.C. — Police in Salisbury said they found the body of a teen Monday night who was reported missing earlier in the day and have charged her ex-boyfriend with her murder.
Officers were called to a parking lot along North Long Street after receiving information that a vehicle connected to 19-year-old Talisha Crowder was there.

Crowder had been reported missing by her mother earlier Monday and police said when they found her in the car around 7 p.m. she had been shot to death.
Late Tuesday night police said they arrested Brandon Hawkins, 20, of Salisbury, and charged him with first-degree murder.
Investigators said the car Crowder was found in belonged to Hawkins.
Crowder was enrolled at Pfeiffer University and was studying to be a doctor, her family said.
Pfeiffer University said Crowder was a very serious student who was on the school's dance team.
Police do not think her death was a random act of violence but have not released any further details about the crime.
Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
