CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A few downpours are possible in the foothills Monday morning, but these are not moving toward the metro.
It will be slightly cooler with highs down a few degrees from Sunday. Meteorologist Keith Monday said he expects temperatures to top out in the mid- to upper-80s.
Afternoon storm chances will mainly be confined to the high country, but a few can't be ruled out elsewhere. Storm chances will go up a bit Tuesday before the area sees heat returning late this week.
Highs return to the 90s by Wednesday and stay there into the weekend.
