Charleston Fire Department SUV stolen from fire station

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Authorities say someone stole a Charleston Fire Department SUV from a fire station.

Charleston Police say an officer in nearby Goose Creek spotted the stolen SUV minutes after it was taken around 10 a.m. Sunday and started chasing it.

Police say the driver didn't stop for several miles until running over spiked sticks placed in the road by Charleston officers.

Authorities say no one was injured, and the driver was taken into custody. The driver's name or any possible charges have not been released.

The fire department said on Twitter the SUV sustained only minor damage.

The statement from Charleston Police didn't give details on how the driver was able to take the SUV.
