Lancaster shelter director charged with misusing funds

LANCASTER, S.C. — The former director of the Lancaster County Animal Shelter has been charged with breach of trust.

Shandrieka Michelle Everall, 38, was charged this week following an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division.

An arrest warrant says Everall is charged with using shelter fund to buy meals and pay personal bills.

The warrant says Everall is charged with using shelter money for personal gain, including buying meals, paying personal bills and giving money to a shelter volunteer to pay a personal bill.

The charges include breach of trust, obtaining property under false pretense with a total value of $2,000 or less.

It was not known if Everall has an attorney.

The warrant says she was director of the settler from 2014 to 2016.
