How long is the Sprint Cup Series season and what does it consist of?

For many fans outside of NASCAR and for some of the drivers, the Sprint Cup season is probably considered too long. It starts in February and ends in November. Unlike other sports, its first race is the biggest of the year with the Daytona 500. The season consists of 36 races, starting with the Daytona 500 and ending with the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 18th. Following the Homestead race, the Sprint Cup Champion will be crowned. There are a number tracks that host multiple races during the year. One of those includes Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte. Charlotte hosts the Sprint Cup All-Star Challenge and the Coca-Cola 600 in May. It also hosts the Bank of America 500 in October. That race is five of ten in the Chase for the Championship.
