For both the novice and experienced fan, keeping track of all of the flags during the course of a race can be difficult. We break it down for you and explain what each one means.

There are actually eight official flags of different designs and colors that let drivers and teams know what's going on during a race.

There are two official flagmen that waive those flags at every NASCAR Nextel Cup race.

We caught up with them and they give us the official explanation of what they're all for in a video and slideshow on this page.
