Steady downpours to saturate Charlotte area all day

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Light showers, mist and drizzle will be found across the Charlotte area Tuesday morning -- but more downpours are likely to develop around the Queen City through the afternoon.

Heavy rain and lightning are the main threats Tuesday and temperatures will only warm to the lower 80s.

The unsettled weather will ease later this week but not before we see more downpours Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday's rain chance may bring even stronger storms with a damaging wind threat. Slightly drier weather arrives for Friday and the weekend, as temps will heat back into the lower 90s.
