Cold temperatures expected through Christmas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After more than 3 inches of rain, the deluge is over, Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson said.

Rain pushed east Monday. From here on out through the rest of the week, it is all about the cold weather that will be in the area.

Temperatures will struggle to reach 50 degrees Tuesday and Christmas morning will get all the way down the low 20s. It will be a sunny but cold Christmas day with highs only in the mid-40s.

From Thursday through the weekend, the area will keep the sun around and gradually warm up. Temperatures may reach 60 degrees by Sunday.
