Storms move out as temps fall back into the 80s

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The stormy weather has moved away from the Charlotte region, and milder temps will return to the metro Friday.

Low clouds Friday morning will clear out, making way for a pretty nice afternoon. Temperatures will fall back into the mid-80s with slightly lower humidity.

A few moderate showers could still pop up in the mountains and far south, but most of the viewing area will stay dry.

The weekend will be quite hot and humid as temps in the 90s return. Highs will soar into the mid-90s on Sunday, with heat index values close to 100 degrees.

Storm chances remain low for the weekend but a few cells will pop up in the mountains on Sunday.

The next chance for stormy weather will come on Monday. Thereafter, we will see a nice cool down for most of next week.
