Fair weather to stick around

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Temperatures are pushing 80 degrees Tuesday afternoon and should stay that high over the next few days.

A breeze will start to bring in some moisture while clouds and most rain remain remote with the exception of some light precipitation in the mountains.

The next cold front is expected to arrive Friday afternoon and evening.

All indications are that the front will weaken dramatically and dry up as it crosses the mountains.

Charlotte rain chances are only about 20 percent for Friday and Friday evening with a 50-60 percent chance for mountains.

The weekend will start off a bit cooler.

By the end of the weekend, the next storm takes shape in the Gulf and pushes towards the area.
