CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Temperatures reached close to 90 degrees Wednesday and thunderstorms will have a tough time building.
Most areas will stay dry early Wednesday evening. There is potential for a patch of thunderstorms over Kentucky and Tennessee that will push toward the mountains and near Charlotte later in the day.
The front settles south on Thursday, so the most likely chance of an afternoon thunderstorm will be from Interstate 85 south.
At this time, severe weather is not expected but there is a chance of thunderstorms late Wednesday especially over the mountains.
There is a chance for late day thunderstorms every day into early next week. Temperatures will stay well above the average of 83 degrees through the middle of next week.
