• Rain may take a break for Panthers game tonight

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - There will be light to moderate rain showers for the rest of Friday afternoon, according to meteorologist Keith Monday.
A couple of the latest forecast models show the rain taking a break after 6 p.m. This break may last most of the evening and early overnight before showers pick back up again Saturday morning. This could mean the Panthers game stays relatively dry.  It will remain quiet humid and damp this evening, even if it doesn’t rain.

Overall the weekend still looks very wet and cool with scattered downpours off and on.
This is no longer looking like a complete washout, but don’t expect really any sun either.  Rain totals remain on the high side over a two- to three-day period.
Amounts should range from 1 to 3 inches with isolated higher amounts.

The long spread out duration of the rain means that flooding is not looking likely at this time.  Conditions will continue to be monitored over the weekend, but no immediate threat.
