What to know now:

1. Toyota recall: Toyota has announced a recall of nearly  1.6 million vehicles sold in the United States over concerns about faulty air bag inflators. The recall is the second this month concerning the inflators made by Takata which have been responsible for 11 deaths and more than 100 injuries worldwide. Earlier this month, 40 million vehicles were added to the 28.8 million vehicles already recalled to replace the device that  inflates the airbag in the event of a crash. The inflator  can case the airbag to inflate with too much force, shredding the casing and sending shards of metal throughout the vehicle.

2. No Democratic debate: Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton has declined an invitation to debate Sen. Bernie Sanders prior to the June 7 California primary. "We believe that Hillary Clinton's time is best spent campaigning and meeting directly with voters across California and preparing for a general election campaign that will ensure the White House remains in Democratic hands," Clinton's campaign spokesman Jennifer Palmieri said Monday. Sanders said he was, "disappointed but not surprised" that Clinton turned down the opportunity to debate. "Democracy, and respect for the voters of California, would suggest that there should be a vigorous debate in which the voters may determine whose ideas they support," he said. "I hope Secretary Clinton reconsiders her unfortunate decision to back away from her commitment to debate."

3.  Cosby in court: Bill Cosby is expected to be in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on charges he sexually assaulted a woman in 2004. If the judge determines the prosecution has enough evidence to suggest a crime has occurred, he will  set a trial  date. Cosby's accuser, Andrea Constand, could be in the courtroom Tuesday. The hearing has been delayed since January.

4. Hubbard at trial: The trial of Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard  begins Tuesday. The former Alabama Republican Party chairman faces felony ethics charges. He is accused of using his position to get consulting clients and business investments. Hubbard faces up to 20 years in prison, a $30,000 fine and removal from office if convicted. On the witness list is the current and former governors of Alabama.

5. Explosion likely: A forensics official in Egypt says an examination of human remains recovered from the area where EgyptAir Flight 804 crashed suggested there was an explosion on board the plane. The official, who was not named, said the condition of the remains indicates  "the logical explanation is that it was an explosion." The plane, traveling from Paris to Cairo, crashed into the Mediterranean last week, with 66 people on board.

NFL owners meeting in Charlotte, N.C., will consider rewriting rules that govern which plays cannot be reviewed using instant replay. According to the owners, the move will simplify the rule book.
