7 things to know now: Sanders, Clinton win; college football players arrested; overtime pay;

Here's a roundup of news trending across the nation and world today.

What to know now:

1. Primary wins: Bernie Sanders won the Oregon Democratic primary Tuesday while Hillary Clinton claimed victory in Kentucky. Sanders never trailed in Oregon where residents vote by mail. Clinton and Sanders exchanged the lead in Kentucky and by the end of the night Clinton had a roughly 1,900 vote lead. Kentucky's Secretary of State, a Clinton supporter, declared Clinton was the "unofficial" winner, pending certification of the ballots. On the Republican side, Donald Trump was the  winner in Oregon. The GOP Kentucky primary was held in March. Trump won that one, too.

2. Quake in Ecuador: An earthquake hit Ecuador early Wednesday near the spot of the where a 7.8 quake killed hundreds on April 16. Tuesday's 6.7-magnitude quake was centered about  36 miles south of Esmeraldas, Ecuador,  at a depth of about seven miles. According to Ecuador's president, there are so far no reports of damage or deaths.

3. Gandolfini's watch:  An Italian paramedic is on trial for allegedly stealing late actor James Gandolfini's watch as he lay dying in a Rome hotel in 2013. The $3,000 watch went missing after "The Sopranos" star's death. Claudio Bevilacqua's trial started Monday in Rome.

4. GE crops not dangerousA report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine released Tuesday has found  there is no substantiated evidence that shows genetically- engineered crops are any more of a risk to human health than crops that are grown in the conventional way. The study also showed that while GE crops did not seem to cause environmental problems, there could be a problem.  "While recognizing the inherent difficulty of detecting subtle or long-term effects on health or the environment, the study committee found no substantiated evidence of a difference in risks to human health between current commercially available genetically  engineered (GE) crops and conventionally bred crops, nor did it find conclusive cause-and-effect evidence of environmental problems from the GE crops."

5. Overtime pay: President Obama is expected to unveil a new rule that would give 4.2 million additional Americans access to overtime pay. Currently, if executive, administrative and professional employees make more than $23,660, they are exempt from overtime pay. The new threshold would be $47,476.

And one more

Two University of Alabama football players were arrested Tuesday.  Cam Robinson and Hootie Jones were arrested in West Monroe, La. on charges of possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a firearm. According to police, an officer saw the two in a car at a park after it had closed, and, after seeing a handgun resting on Jones' lap, asked them to get out of the car. The officer reported he found suspected marijuana and  other weapons in the car.
