Is Christmas becoming more of a secular holiday than a religious one?

Researchers say yes, albeit slowly.

The Pew Research Center found that adults in the United States believe that Christmas is shifting from the religious aspects, and many are not worried about the changes, the Huffington Post reported.

Pew said that 46 percent of those surveyed said Christmas is a religious holiday instead of a cultural one. In 2013, that number was 51 percent.

Millennials in the survey said that the holiday is more cultural than religious.

But despite the shift from religious to secular, nine in 10 of those surveyed plan to celebrate Christmas in some fashion and the findings are very close to those from 2013, with half planning on attending church services, Pew reported.
