Country stars Rascal Flatts surprise bride with performance at wedding reception

Jay DeMarcus, Joe Don Rooney and Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts surprised a Wisconsin bride and groom by performing at their wedding reception.

WATERTOWN, Wis. — It’s often said that the most precious gifts you can give someone are your time and attention. Rascal Flatts was definitely feeling generous when it came to giving newlyweds Sara and Brandon McInnis a wedding gift.

The bride and groom had planned their June 24 wedding in Watertown, Wisconsin, to include playing Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road” during their first dance. A DJ was set to play the 2005 single, but the couple’s longtime friend, Tammy, had other plans.

"I knew that Rascal Flatts was up at Country USA, and I thought, 'You know what, wouldn't it be really cool if they could stop (by),'" Tammy said in a video posted on Rascal Flatts official Facebook page. "So, I sent them an email and gave them kind of a little background story about Brandon and Sara and who they are."

That was all the award-winning country trio needed to show up. The group didn’t just sing the first dance song, they also grabbed a photo with the newlyweds, then had an impromptu meet-and-greet with family members who wanted a picture with the country stars, too.
