Chaos erupted in the Hamilton County courtroom, WLWT-TV reported, after the judge handed down Tracie Hunter's jail sentence, with people running toward the front of the court. Video shows a deputy dragging the former judge off to jail.

The sentencing comes a year after a jury convicted Hunter of helping her brother keep his job by mishandling confidential information in 2014, according to WLWT.

Hunter has denied the charges from the beginning, pointing out that her brother worked for the court for years before she was ever elected as a judge.

Hunter is appealing the sentence but had to begin serving the jail time until a decision on the motion is made.
