Williams, 34, was arrested Tuesday and was charged with criminal trespassing, the Houston Chronicle reported. He was free after posting a $100 bond, according to court records.

According to court records, Williams made a copy of a woman's garage remote in Katy with a universal remote. Deputies said he used the remote to enter the woman's residence sometime after 1 a.m. Tuesday, KTRK reported.

Williams was the Houston Texans' top pick in the 2006 NFL draft. The defensive end had an 11-year career in the pros, playing in Houston from 2006 to 2011. He then spent four seasons with the Buffalo Bills before finishing his career with the Miami Dolphins in 2016.

Williams was a four-time Pro Bowl selection who had 97.5 sacks and recovered five fumbles during his career. He also forced 14 fumbles and returned one 38 yards for a touchdown in the Texans' season-opening 20-3 victory against Kansas City in 2007.

A judge ordered a mental health or intellectual disability assessment for Williams, KHOU reported. Court documents also claim the woman filed a restraining order against Williams in May.
