The recall includes about 175,000 Cra-Z-Jewelz Gem Creations jewelry-making kits, according to manufacturer LaRose Industries. The kits were sold at multiple retailers nationwide, including Toys R Us, Walmart, Target and Kmart, from August 2015 through April 2016.

In a recall notice issued Thursday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the "slider bracelet" in the kits contains high levels of lead that could be toxic if ingested.

No injuries were reported. Authorities recommended that the recalled kits be taken away from children immediately.

LaRose Industries is offering refunds for the jewelry-making kits.
