Kid Rock not shying away from Republican National Convention

CLEVELAND — While other musicians have declined to play at July’s Cleveland Rocks festival, citing political concerns, Kid Rock has agreed to take the stage.

He and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band will headline Cleveland Rocks 2016 on the last night of the Republican National Convention.

Rock is a vocal supporter of the military.

Donald Trump is expected to receive the nomination at the convention, and Kid Rock has expressed his support for Trump in the past.

The private event will benefit military-related charities.

While the show is not a sanctioned convention event, its close political affiliation was enough to sway Joe Walsh into canceling his performance at the beginning of the convention and keep Cheap Trick from accepting $100,000 to play.
