Latinos for Trump founder warns of 'taco trucks on every corner'

If nothing is done to curb the influence of Mexican culture in America, people are going to start seeing "taco trucks (on) every corner," Latinos for Trump founder Marco Gutierrez warned Thursday while appearing on MSNBC.

"My culture is a very dominant culture, and it's imposing and it's causing problems," Gutierrez, who was born in Mexico, said on "All In with Chris Hayes."

"If you don't do something about it you're going to have taco trucks (on) every corner," he warned

Gutierrez's claim stunned guest host Joy Reid, who was standing in for Hayes.

"I don't even know what that means and I'm almost afraid to ask," she said.

Guiterrez defended his statement and said that those who believe that Mexican culture is non-aggressive have romanticized the country.

"There is a new Mexico that's rising with crime and we need to stop that," he said. "It starts right here."

The exchange reverberated on social media, with #TacoTrucksOnEveryCorner trending on Twitter for hours.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reiterated Wednesday that "there will be no amnesty" for undocumented immigrants if he is elected president.

"It's our right as a sovereign nation to choose immigrants that we think are the likeliest to thrive and flourish and love us," he said. "If we can save American lives, American jobs and American futures, together we can save America itself."

After the speech, reports surfaced that at least half of Trump's Hispanic advisory board planned to resign.
