Pizza delivery gets its logical pairing: Beer delivery

A case of Budweiser, rebranded as 'America,' sits on a shelf at a grocery store, May 23, 2016, in Washington, DC.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — You can get nearly anything delivered directly to your door, but one item has long been just out of reach for delivery services, until now.

Two friends have put their heads together and come up with BeerMe Delivery in Pensacola, Florida, The Pensacola News Journal reported.

Owner Drew Ruff had the inspiration after having a few too many drinks one day.

So he and Kellen Martin started talking about having beer delivered right to your door and came up with a plan to do it legally.

BeerMe Delivery uses an ID verification scanning system in place that helps make sure that under-aged people don't order and receive beer from drivers.

The service started out slow, but grew quickly. They have 20 to 25 deliveries a week, Ruff told The News Journal.

And beer isn't the only adult beverage they bring. They also deliver wine and snacks.

They have one group of women who order their wine from BeerMe every week.

The service comes with a price. BeerMe Delivery charges $4.99 with every order.
