Rachel Roy says she's not 'Becky,' BeyHive swarms Rita Ora

LOS ANGELES — The woman whom many Beyonce fans thought was the woman who might have had a relationship with Jay Z has released a statement saying otherwise.

Rachel Roy posted an Instagram photo of herself with the caption, "Good hair don't care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light."

The caption is a nod to a lyric from "Sorry," a song from Beyonce's new album "Lemonade," which mentions infidelity in a relationship.

The lyric at the end of the song says, "You better call Becky with the good hair," insinuating that she's the woman Beyonce's husband cheated with.

The timing of the photo -- the same day as the HBO premiere of Beyonce's visual album -- was enough to get the BeyHive swarming, leading Roy to make her Instagram private.

Instead, the Hive made comments on her 16-year-old daughter's Instagram profile.

Roy has since made her Instagram page public again but deleted the controversial post.

Roy released a statement to People.com Tuesday in an attempt to put the rumors to bed:

I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors. Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats. As a mother -- and I know many mothers would agree -- I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable. I would hope that the media sees the real issue here -- the issue of cyberbullying -- and how it should not be tolerated by anyone.

Now the BeyHive has turned its attention to Rita Ora, a singer who was a protege on Jay Z's Roc Nation roster.

The Hive points to a Snapchat screenshot of Ora wearing a necklace with the letter "J" on it and a bikini top with lemons printed on it. The assumption is that the necklace is related to Jay Z and the top is a nod to Beyonce's album. But there is some speculation that the necklace is actually a lowercase "R" that appears backwards in the photo.

For her part, Ora tweeted that the rumors are not true, adding that she has "nothing but the utmost respect for Beyonce."

But replies to the tweet indicate that some Beyonce fans are not buying it.
