George Zimmerman is down a gun, but up a reported $250,000 after recently selling the weapon involved in the 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.

Zimmerman, a member of the neighborhood watch in his gated community, said he was acting in self defense when he shot and killed Martin.

A jury acquitted him of murder and manslaughter charges in 2013.

In a Skype interview with a WFTV affiliate in Las Vegas, Zimmerman said he had no regrets about selling the gun, seeming surprised that it sold for so much.

“The ironic part is they made it worth at least a quarter of a million dollars,” he said. “They gave me a quarter of a million dollars.”

Zimmerman did not specify who “they” were.

The man said he had several plans for the funds from the gun’s sale.

The first was simple, but bizarre.

“Anything I can think of to ensure that Hillary Clinton does not become the leader of the greatest nation on Earth,” he said, without giving further detail.

He also wanted to donate some of the money to officers killed by violence tied to the “Black Lives Matter” campaign.

“I would sell everything and anything I own to ensure, to attempt to ensure, that they can no longer hurt men and women of law enforcement,” Zimmerman said.

Again, he did not say who “they” were.

Zimmerman did not pay much attention to some of his critics, who have said the sale of the gun used to kill Martin was nothing but a “victory lap” following his acquittal.

“I don’t care about them one bit,” he said. “They didn’t bid on (the gun). They don’t affect my life one bit.

“They are irrelevant.”
