Union Co. School Board member dies Sunday

UNION COUNTY — Family members told Eyewitness News Union County School Board member John Crowder died Sunday from a stroke.

"On behalf of the school system and Board of Education, he'll be missed," said Rob Jackson with Union County Public Schools.

Crowder is being recognized as a great "advocate for children." He served on the school board since the merger of two school systems in 1993.

The school system says it will do more in regards to Crowder's passing this week.
