US Airways issues travel advisory for Tuesday, Wednesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The system that is bringing the rain to Charlotte is covering much of the east coast and the Midwest Tuesday morning.

This comes during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.

US Airways issued a travel advisory for Tuesday and Wednesday, which makes it easier for travelers to change tickets.

Eyewitness News learned that as of Tuesday morning, Charlotte-Douglas Airport is not facing any flight cancellations.  However, the airport is seeing a few delays from flights coming in from the northeast.

Travelocity has sent out representatives to Charlotte and 9 of the other busiest airports in the country for the next 24 to 48 hours to help travelers during the next few days.

Officials anticipate more cancellations and delays as weather progresses later in the day.
