Warm up continues Thursday ahead of Friday storms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Thursday morning started off with clouds but the rain has been holding off to the west of Charlotte. That will be the case throughout Thursday as more sunshine arrives in the afternoon.

Temperatures will warm again into the lower-to-mid 70s Thursday afternoon.

A pretty impressive outbreak of severe weather is expected Thursday across the Midwest and Ohio Valley. This line will head towards Charlotte for Friday morning, but the storms will weaken as they arrive. Heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning are still expected for Friday morning.

Drier weather returns again Friday afternoon and will last through the weekend with temperatures falling back down to the lower-to-mid 60s.
