Warmer temps arrive ahead of wet weather

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Temperatures were still very cold Thursday morning, but rest assured, warmer weather will start to move into the Charlotte area by the afternoon -- and will last into the weekend.

Rain is in the offing for Friday. Showers will pick up throughout the day and we could even see some heavier downpours.

There is no threat for big storms at this time Saturday, but some gusty winds are possible in the heavier rains.

The weekend will be salvaged with sunshine and 60 degree temps on Sunday.

For once, Severe Weather Center 9 is not tracking another blast of cold air for next week.
