Storm brings wind, lightning, hail to Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A major thunderstorm quickly moved through uptown Charlotte Wednesday.

The storm moved in from the south near York County where there were gusty winds and heavy rain.

Another cold front will push through Thursday, increasing the chance for rain even more and keeping temperatures down again. The storm chances will be the best late Thursday around lunch time.

The cold front will push south, east and wash out over the weekend, taking the rain chances with it.

Temperatures will reach the upper 80s Thursday and Friday, but with more sun. Temperatures will be back in the 90s, especially on Sunday.

The heat will build into next week.
