Parking In Uptown From Traffic Team 9

Friday, August 19, 2005 – updated: 3:51 pm EDT August 30, 2006

With more than 45,000 parking spaces in Uptown Charlotte, plenty of parking is always available for Carolina Panthers games.

First, decide how close you want to park to the stadium. The closest parking lots charge $30 or more, but because of heavy pedestrian traffic can be very difficult to exit following the game. Parking lots 6 blocks away charge only $6, but are a 5-10 minute walk from the stadium.

The Charlotte Department of Transportation says that fans parking closest to the stadium are usually the last to leave the area. Fans parking within a 5-10 minute walk are able to bypass the gridlock around Bank of America Stadium and make a quicker exit.

Traffic Team 9 recommends the following parking lots as good choices for those not familiar with Uptown Charlotte (for a comprehensive look at Uptown parking choices, click the map located on the right side of this page):

  • Preferred Parking lot # 408, located at the intersection of 2nd St. and Mint St., one block from Bank of America stadium. This is an excellent lot for tailgating, but not a good choice if you need to make a quick exit. Panthers Game Day fee: $30
  • Preferred Parking lot # 124, located at the intersection of 4th St. and Poplar St. This lot offers easy access from I-77 and is located 4 blocks from Bank of America stadium. Panthers Game Day fee: $20
  • First Baptist Church parking lot, located at the intersection of 2nd St. and Davidson St. This lot offers easy access from south Charlotte and I-277 (use the Caldwell St. exit), but is located over 6 blocks from the stadium. Expect a 10 minute walk. Panthers Game Day fee: $6.
  • Preferred Parking sells parking permits in advance via their website. For Panthers Game Day parking permits, click here.
