Bruins Grant Kobasew Contract Extension

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins signed forward Chuck Kobasew to a multi-year contract extension on Tuesday.

Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a solid year for the Bruins in 2007-2008, placing second on the club with a career-best 22 goals and fourth with 39 points in 73 regular-season games.

Kobasew, who came to Boston in a February 2007 trade from Calgary, has posted 57 goals and 112 points in 293 games with the Flames and Bruins over a five- year NHL career.

The native of British Columbia was drafted 14th overall by Calgary in the 2001 draft, and helped Boston College win the national title in his only collegiate season.
