Senators' Alfredsson Has Surgery

Saturday, October 11, 2008

(Sports Network) - Ottawa Senators forward Daniel Alfredsson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday, and he could miss up to two weeks of action.

The surgery was to remove a bone chip in the captain's knee that was dislodged during Ottawa's game against Pittsburgh on Sunday in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ottawa's all-time leader in goals (331), assists (518) and games played (855), the 35-year-old had a pair of assists in the Senators' two games last weekend against Pittsburgh in Europe.
