Sedin, Booth, Brodeur Selected As NHL's Three Stars

New York, NY -- (Sports Network) - Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin, Florida Panthers left wing David Booth and New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending October 12.Sedin garnered first star honors as he led all scores over the week with two goals and three assists in the Canucks' two victories over the weekend. In Vancouver's home opener on October 9, Sedin recorded three assists in a 6-0 win over Calgary. On October 11, Sedin lit the lamp twice, including the 150th goal of his career, in a 5-4 overtime win in Calgary. Booth earned the second star as he totaled four points (three goals, one assist) in two games. In a 6-4 loss to start the season on October 10 against Carolina, he recorded a goal and an assist. On October 12 against Atlanta, he tallied twice, including the overtime winner in a 3-2 victory. Brodeur posted a 2-0-0 record with a 0.97 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage in a pair of 2-1 victories. He stopped 25 shots in a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders in the Devils' home opener on October 10. The next night, he made 14 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Brodeur now has 540 victories, which is just 11 shy of tying Patrick Roy for the NHL record.
