Blue Jackets Put F Boll On IR

(Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets placed forward Jared Boll on injured reserve Wednesday.

Boll, who is suffering from a head/neck injury, is expected to be out for the next seven-to-10 days.

In his second season in the NHL, both with Columbus, he has appeared in three games and recorded 11 penalty minutes. Last season, he played in 75 games and had five goals and five assists along with a team-high 226 penalty minutes.

To take his place on the roster, the team recalled forward Nikita Filatov from Syracuse of the American Hockey League. Filatov was the club's first-round pick (sixth overall) in the 2008 draft.
