Located in the central part of Cabarrus County, this beautiful 200 acre park used to be a working farm. Relics of its past still are available for the publics enjoyment, including a refurbished dairy barn and silo. This large barn is a popular spot for family and community gatherings. Park amenities include a 9 acre lake for fishing and paddle boating. The barn provides facilities for group picnics, reunions, cookouts, banquets, dances, and meetings and is home base for the Parks Departments annual summer day camp. Located near the barn are horseshoes, volleyball, picnic tables, and a playground. The Park also includes lighted tennis courts, picnic shelters, walking, fitness, and nature trails, and a miniature golf course. A softball complex, (4 fields, 3 lighted) hosts softball games weekly and weekends and an 11 field soccer complex (3 lighted fields) is operated in cooperation with the FC Carolina Alliance and the Concord Parks and Recreation Department. Frank Liske Park was dedicated in 1982 and named in honor of Mr. Frank Liske. The property was once operated as a farm by the Stonewall Jackson Training School residents and staff. Mr. Liske served Stonewall Jackson Training School for 48 years and was instrumental in acquiring the land for lease from the state for the development of the park. In addition, Frank Liske Park is managed as a wildlife and nature preserve to the areas natural resources.
