ABC Television, "Oprah's Big Give" and WSOC-TV are handing out cold, hard cash and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina's Backpack Program will be the beneficiary.

WSOC-TV will get a $10,000 check to use as "seed" money after the station was challenged to do something big with the money, make it grow and pay it forward to the community.

There are 15 Kids Cafe´ sites open in Charlotte. 12 of them have the funds to send at least some kids home on Friday with a backpack filled with healthy food for the weekend.

$10,000 will provide backpacks stuffed with food for 50 children every weekend for an entire year. WSOC-TV's is challenging viewers and local businesses to grow that $10,000.

Please join Channel 9 and our radio partner Kiss 95.1 in this important campaign.

When you donate, be sure to note "Oprah's Big Give" on your check or mention "Oprah's Big Give" with your credit card number so your donation will get earmarked for the Backpack Program and we can track how our community is paying it forward!
