Stephen Curry scored more than 30 points for a third straight game and the 10th-seeded Davidson Wildcats pulled off another stunner. Curry scored 33 in leading Davidson over third-seeded Wisconsin 73-56 to advance to the Midwest Regional finals. Curry outscored the Badgers all by himself in the second half, 22-20. Wisconsin finished 31-and-5.

The Wildcats shot 49 percent, including 12-of-24 from 3-point range. Curry was 11-of-22 from the field, including six 3-pointers. Jason Richards had 11 points and 13 assists. Davidson extended the nation's longest winning streak to 25. The Wildcats will play Kansas on Sunday for a trip to the Final Four.

No. 1 Kansas defeated No. 12 Villanova 72-57 in the region's second game Friday night. Brandon Rush scored 16 points, Russell Robinson added 15, and the Jayhawaks earned a spot in the Midwest Regional final Sunday against Davidson.

Kansas coach Bill Self is in the regional finals for the fifth time with his third different school since 2000. Self is a win away from no longer being regarded as the best coach without a Final Four on his resume.

The Jayhawks will be a huge favorite to end 10th-seeded Davidson's stay in the NCAA tournament and advance to the Final Four for the first time since 2003.

Villanova ends the season 22-13.

South

Stanford's big guys were no match for the small, medium and jumbo sized Texas Longhorns.

Little D.J. Augustin set the tempo, 299-pound Dexter Pittman pounded and pestered Brook Lopez and the rest of the Longhorns chipped in as Texas defeated Stanford 82-62 in an NCAA South Regional semifinal. Augustin led the Longhorns with 23. Lopez had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinal, who wind up 28-8. The victory sends the Longhorns into Sunday's regional final against Memphis. The Longhorns are trying to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2003.

The top-seeded Memphis Tigers humbled No. 5 Michigan State and embarrassed all the naysayers who suggested they were the most suspect of the top seeds in this year's NCAA tournament. The final score Friday night: Memphis 92, Michigan State 74, but really, it was worse than that. Next up in the South Regional, a game Sunday against Texas with a trip to the Final Four on the line, though the message on this overwhelming night was clear: Don't mess with Memphis.

East

The Sweet 16 games in the East Region tipped off Thursday with No. 4 Washington State taking on No. 1 North Carolina. The Tar Heels, the overall top seed in the tournament, continued to coast through their tourney matchups. UNC led by 14 at the half before posting a 68-47 victory. Tyler Hansbrough led North Carolina with 18 points and nine rebounds.

The second game featured No. 3 Louisville against No. 2 Tennessee. The Cardinals controlled the game from the start, taking a seven-point lead into halftime and holding on to post the 77-60 victory. Earl Clark led Louisville with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

West

Third-round games in the West Region began Thursday with No. 7 West Virginia taking on No. 3 Xavier. The Mountaineers trailed by as many as 18 in the first half before chipping away at the lead. West Virginia evened the score in the second half and forced the game into overtime when Joe Alexander knocked down a jump shot with 14 seconds left in regulation. Xavier pulled away in the extra session to post the 79-75 victory.

The region's second game featured No. 12 Western Kentucky against No. 1 UCLA. The Bruins dominated the first half of play, leading by 21 at the intermission. But the Hilltoppers didn't go away and mounted a comeback in the second period. The Bruins were able to keep their advantage and posted an 88-78 victory. Western Kentucky's Tyrone Brazelton scored a game-high 31 points. UCLA was led by Kevin Love, who recorded 29 points and 14 rebounds.
