A handful of mechanical engineering students from UNC Charlotte are fielding an entry in the Summer Shootout at Lowe's Motor Speedway. 49ers Legends Racing is made up of all students, ranging from freshman to seniors and beyond. The team competes every Tuesday in Conord. The team is a product of the Department of Mechanical and Engineering Science's motorsports laboratory.
