MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Mooresville defeated North Mecklenburg, 34-26, Friday in the WSOC-TV High School Football Extra Game of the Week.
It was the first meeting between the schools since 2012.
The Blue Devils (5-0) iced the win with a touchdown with less than seven minutes remaining to stay unbeaten.
North Meck (5-1) failed to tie the game in the fourth quarter when its extra point was blocked.
Later in the quarter, North Meck's bad snap led to Mooresville's final score.
Mooresville took a 17-13 halftime lead.
Mooresville is led by massive offensive line Damarcus Mills, a Big 22 Player to Watch. Mills missed the game while recovering from an injury.
Mooresville has won the last four games in the series. North Meck last won in 2009.
