"My most memorable story in all that time was covering a riot at Michigan State University in 1999" Scott says. "People on campus went crazy after the basketball team lost in the Final Four. They flipped cars and started fires. I went live with several reports from the heart of the action until someone in the crowd decided to smash our camera. Then the police fired tear gas. I’ll never forget how I felt. My eyes were burning and I was coughing. It was chaos, exhilarating and frightening at the same time."
Scott also covered the Final Four live from Indianapolis the next year, when Michigan State won the National Championship.
Scott also enjoys covering politics. During the 2000 presidential election he interviewed Republican candidate John McCain. In 2004 he reported live from Greenville, S.C. after the a democratic Presidential debate, and was also live with John Edwards in Columbia, S.C., when he declared victory in the South Carolina democratic primary in 2004. Scott filed live reports for television stations all over the country. Scott and his wife, Candice, have a new baby daughter, Willow.
