Susan Tran joined the Eyewitness News team in September 2006 as weekend Co-Anchor/Reporter. She came to WSOC from Boston's Fox affiliate where she was an Emmy nominated reporter. Before Boston, Susan was the main female anchor at an NBC affiliate in Utica, New York. During her 5 year tenure, she's won several AP awards for her work.

Whether seeking out an exclusive story or telling the tales of extraordinary people, Susan's energetic style and lively storytelling exemplify her love for the news. She's interviewed Presidents, Governors and Hollywood stars. She's weathered countless snow storms and tracked down sex offenders. But her favorite stories are the ones about everyday people. Her coverage of a young paraplegic's plight led to a community outpouring of support resulting in renovations of her home to provide accessibility.

Susan graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 1997. She is a dedicated 'Big Sister' in the Big/Little Sister program and a trustee at Cazenovia College. A native of Los Angeles, Susan speaks Mandarin-Chinese and hopes to visit her parent's homeland someday.
