Posted: 2:39 pm EDT May 30, 2008Updated: 9:23 am EDT September 2, 2008

Hanna's projected path has her heading right towards the Charlotte area. Now is the time for preparation. A weather alert radio gives you the earliest warning possible when severe weather approaches your neighborhood. So, get your survival kits ready now! Make sure your weather alert radio has fresh batteries and the current codes.

Join Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson and the Severe Weather Center 9 team at the Food Lion located at 5624 N. Graham St. in Charlotte on Wednesday, Sept. 3 from Noon to 2 p.m. They will program your radios for free. If you don't have a weather alert radio, there will be plenty of radios on hand to purchase at a reduced price -- $29.99.
