Kim Brattain

Kim Brattain is co-anchor for WSOC-TV's "Eyewitness News" at 5:30 p.m., and WAXN-TV Action 64's "Action News" at 10 p.m.

Brattain previously co-anchored Charlotte's top-rated morning newscast, "Channel 9 Eyewitness News Daybreak", with Cullen Ferguson weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.

She and Cullen also co-anchored "Channel 9 Eyewitness News Midday", weekdays at noon. In addition, Kim works as Channel 9's Family Focus reporter.

A Charlotte native, Kim graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism, and has anchored the news in Raleigh, Greenville, South Carolina and Cleveland, Ohio.

Kim has been recognized with three Emmy Awards; one for investigative reporting when she covered corruption within the Cleveland Police Department, one for spot news when she covered flooding after Hurricane Hugo and a third for her Family Focus reporting.

Kim most recently won an Associated Press award for her anchoring of spot news coverage of a gas explosion.

Active in the community, Kim serves on the Board of Visitors for Charlotte Country Day School, the American Cancer Society Leadership Council, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Drug Free Coalition, and the Community Advisory Board to the Junior League of Charlotte.

She is also a deacon at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.

Kim enjoys aerobic exercise, weightlifting, yoga and skiing. She lives in Charlotte with her three children.
