Jim Bradley
Jim Bradley, Eyewitness News reporter WSOC-TV, joined Channel 9, in December 1983.Born in Columbus, Ohio, Bradley attended Utica College of Syracuse University, where he received his B.A. in 1980. He says he decided to go into broadcasting at age 17, when he placed third in a statewide contest of the National Forensic League in the radio news division.Before coming to WSOC-TV, Bradley worked at WHBQ in Memphis, Tennessee. He has also worked as a reporter at WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee and as a reporter/anchor at WUTR-TV in Utica, New York.Jim has been recognized for his work in broadcasting. In 1986, he was nominated the North Carolina Journalist of the Year. He also had a story voted Best Story by the Associated Press and RTNDA. Some of his work has appeared on ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and CNN. Most recently Jim was nominated twice for Emmy Awards. Jim also won awards for coverage of the Rae Carruth trial and a national award for a special report on hate crimes. He was also asked to speak at a national conference at Columbia University in New York City.Jim's hobbies include tennis and softball. He lives in Charlotte with his wife, Ruby, and their three children, Paige, Kelsey and Blythe.
