TRAFFIC ASSISTANT

WSOC-TV has an immediate full-time opening in the Traffic Department. The primary functions of the Traffic Assistant are to pull missing copy reports, assign copy to commercial contracts and to ensure accurate and timely preparation of the daily operations log. Other duties will include maintaining copy files for active and inactive commercial instructions, communicating with clients via phone, computer and fax, helping to maintain the tape library, prepare daily dub list for Master Control, clear exceptions and manipulate logs as necessary and as a back-up to other Traffic personnel.

Knowledge and skills required for success in this role:

MULTI-MEDIA WEB PRODUCER

Cox Broadcasting, Charlotte is seeking a Multi-Media Web Producer. This position is designed for a web producer who has the desire, the initiative and the vision to provide unique, creative content to drive local page views on wsoctv.com.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to be self-sufficient and take complete ownership in identifying, capturing and producing multi-media content for a designated section of the site. Must also work as a team member with the web producers in news, etc. and with the sales team on specific assignments.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to serve as a web producer – creating, writing and producing content for any and all areas of the site. Must produce compelling video stories (long and short form) including writing the script, shooting the video, producing the VO and editing the piece for on-line. Must have the ability to shoot still photos to build into captioned or stand alone slide shows.

Required experience includes: Basic Photoshop, Non-linear video editing, Basic HTML/XHTML, Energetic, Self-Motivated, have ability to Write, Shoot, Voice and Edit Video Packages. Experience with Newscutter and use of content management systems preferred.

SENIOR BROADCAST DESIGNER

WSOC-TV, Channel 9, has an immediate opening for the Senior Broadcast Designer. This full time position works closely with the Design Director and the News Department to create and execute a variety of projects including animations, pre-production, news templates, graphic packages, logo design, print design and web design. Candidate must have strong organizational and technical skills. Attention to detail and accuracy is an absolute must. The ability to generate and clearly communicate ideas from a design stand-point to many departments is part of the job. Must be able to manage & prioritize time, work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high quality design. Must set standards for other design staff and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A self-motivated candidate who can interact with multiple departments, commit to the product and act as a team player is essential.

Other requirements: 3-5 years experience working in broadcast news/production design with a solid resume and digital reel. BA/BFA in graphic design or equivalent degree. Advanced proficiency needed in Adobe Aftereffects, Photoshop, & Illustrator. Deko, Curious Maps, 3D knowledge a great plus.
