Erica Bryant anchors WSOC-TV’s "Channel 9 Eyewitness News" at 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. Erica also anchors "Action News"at 10 p.m. on WAXN-TV 64 with Blair Miller.Erica joined the Eyewitness News team in 2004. In addition to reporting for the Investigative team, Erica co-anchored Channel 9 Eyewitness News Daybreak and Eyewitness News Midday at noon. Before coming to Channel 9, she co-anchored the evening news at WCBD-TV in Charleston, S.C. Previously, Erica anchored and produced for WHNS-TV in Greenville, S.C.Erica is passionate about issues facing disadvantaged women and children, domestic violence in particular. Her report on a child pornography ring in Hickory, NC earned her an Emmy nomination in 2005. In addition to that Erica has received multiple Emmy nominations for breaking news coverage, and medical breakthroughs. She has also received awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. Mecklenburg County Youth and Family Services also recognized Erica for her dedication to advocating for children in foster care. Erica earned her degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.Off the air Erica makes numerous community appearances and works with various charities. She was recently recognized by Mecklenburg County’s Your and Family Services for “encouraging families to consider adoption.” Erica is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a non-profit, public service organization.
